HYPER-TRUTH

Not long ago, Peggy [Peggy Wells, the artist and the original Hooked on Hypertufa gal] shared with me a bit of poetry she had written.  Her fascinating work inspired the following:

"Writing good poetry [hyper-truth] is like making Hyper-tufa."

Recipe for "Hyper-Truth":
Combine 1 part condensed prose, 1 part evaporated lyrics and 2 parts distilled emotion. Add an equal amount of dry bonding agent (white lies or gray areas both work well and you may shade the mixture any color you desire). Moisten with whatever creative juices are flowing (tears, sweat, spit, etc.). Don't over-mix (the lumps keep things light and add interest). Test the mix by squeezing - "hyper truth" should hold together with just a drop of excess emotion. Arrange in whatever form your imagination devises. Let the sun shine on the piece for as long as necessary. Keep the surface moist so the ideas firm up from the inside out - this fosters cohesion. When your work has set, smooth off the rough edges and invite others to test it by intense scrutiny. If the truths don't hold together, tear them into smaller pieces and they make an excellent fertilizer. Insurance is not available.

Happy Gardening from Judy!

Peggy will be back next week!
