Some Background from Peggy... Last week a friend showed me an article in a magazine about Sandcasting a Bird Bath. The author described a method using sand as the "Mold" so to speak, covering this with a layer of Quikcrete. I found the article very interesting, but this was a little larger project than I like to do.
Still, I was intrigued! So I decided to experiment replacing the Quikcrete with Hypertufa, following the instructions given.
I ended up making 5 Bird Feeders. They came out really well. All have some sort of leaf impressions on them, most on the top and the bottom (a different spin on the instructions)
I did not follow the coloring directions given in the article, using my own proven methods instead, and the leaf impressions showed up great!
