Hello! I am the founder of PS Nature Creations. From the first, I was “Air Plant Peggy”, but got “Hooked on Hypertufa” in 1997 and started selling my creations in my eBay store in 1999. I used to be all about Hypertufa, and have always been about Air Plants, but these days I am more about selling Air Plants and making custom hangers for them, particularly Macrame Hangers. These will be available as we continue to update our website. My favorite advice has always been.

“Keep your hands dirty!”

Folks, this is what motivates me.

My lifelong quest

Nature has always been my first love. The outdoors is such a vital part of my life, always has been. Gardening is my therapy. I surround myself with flowers and plants of all kinds. If you wish to be motivated, too, a good first step is to go ahead and try starting your plants from seed. Watch your small seed sprout from the earth and grow to produce a beautiful flower or a red, juicy tomato. Few things are more soothing to the soul. Consciously look for a butterfly or bee flying to and from, busily pollinating the early morning blossoms of a vegetable vine. You will witness one of the tiny miracles of the ecosystem in which we all play a part, and that can be awe-inspiring.

Moved by the awe I first felt, I set off years ago on a quest to entice bees, butterflies and birds to my garden. I researched what attracted them and learned about their specific habitats. I now sell the seeds for plants that are excellent at attracting plant pollinators. Here is the current list of seeds that I have available, all good at attracting pollinators:

  • Milkweed (the only plant Monarchs will lay eggs on).
  • Emperors Candlestick – ornamental.
  • Hyacinth bean vine.
  • Pollinator flower blend.

Through this research, I learned these creatures face some worsening problems. Here, to name a few:

There are approximately 700 species of butterflies that make their home here in the United States. Sadly, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reports that 17 of these are endangered or threatened. Gone forever are the xerces blue, sthenele satyr, pheres blue, strohbeen’s parnassius and the atossa fritillary. Worldwide, the World Conservation Union cites 332 butterflies that are in trouble. Entomologist Edward O. Wilson sounded this warning in 2015.

we could, in the worst of circumstances, reach a tipping point in which the whole thing collapses—and we with it.

E. O Wilson

Wilson estimated that one year’s worth of deforestation (the size of Florida) obliterates around 27,000 species of plants and animals.

Urban sprawl, pesticides and the destruction of our forests and wetlands are problems that we all need to help resolve.

I hope this motivates you, too!

Join me as I do my part to protect these small creatures. Open up your senses. If a butterfly, bee or dragonfly collides with your windshield, stop and think how difficult their journey may have been. Urban sprawl, pesticides and the destruction of our forests and wetlands are problems that we all need to help resolve. Plant a butterfly bush -it’s a wonderful way to get started. Be a part of the “We” generation, if you aren’t already:

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
